Privacy Policy

BHM Metalworks LLC ("we," "us," or "our") operates GunsmithApp™, a mobile application and website that connect firearm owners with independent gunsmithing professionals, FFLs, and certified firearms instructors. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using GunsmithApp™, you agree to this Policy.

1. Information We Collect

• Account information: full name, email address, password (stored in hashed form by our authentication provider), account type (customer, gunsmith, or instructor), and ZIP code. Your ZIP code may be converted to approximate map coordinates so we can show nearby providers.
• Location (optional): with your permission, your device's approximate or precise location, used only to show gunsmiths and instructors near you. You can decline or revoke this permission in your device settings; ZIP-based search still works without it.
• Photos and documents (providers only): gunsmiths and instructors may upload photos of licenses and certification documents (for example an FFL license) for verification, and portfolio images. Uploads are stored in access-controlled storage and served only through expiring, signed links.
• Firearm locker (optional, customers): make, model, and caliber of firearms you choose to save — never serial numbers. You can delete locker entries at any time.
• Activity on the platform: booking requests, reviews you write, saved providers, messages to support, and reports you submit.
• Push notification token: if you enable notifications, a device token used solely to deliver booking and account notifications to your device.

2. How We Use Information

• To create and operate your account and provide app functionality (search, booking, reviews, notifications).
• To verify provider credentials before listing them as verified.
• To respond to support requests and enforce our Terms of Service.
• To send service emails (for example booking updates or password resets). Marketing email is sent only where permitted and always includes an unsubscribe link.
• To produce aggregated or de-identified analytics about platform activity (for example, service-demand trends by region).
• To display sponsored content or partner offers within the platform. Sponsors pay for placement; they do not receive your personal information.

3. What We Do Not Do

• We do not sell your personal information.
• We do not give third-party advertisers or sponsors access to your personal data. Any sponsored content or partner offers shown on the platform are served by us; the sponsor never receives your personal information.
• We do not collect firearm serial numbers.

4. Sharing

We share information only with:

• Service providers that host our infrastructure (database, authentication, file storage, email delivery, and push notification delivery), bound to process data only on our behalf.
• Other users, as needed to provide the service: when you send a booking request, the provider sees the name and request details you submit; provider business listings (shop name, services, location, reviews) are visible to users.
• Law enforcement or regulators when required by valid legal process.
• Industry partners — in aggregated or de-identified form only: we may share or sell aggregated or de-identified information that cannot reasonably be used to identify you — for example, service-demand trends by region, booking volume by service category, or caliber trends. This data never includes your name, contact information, firearm locker entries tied to you, or any other identifier.

5. Data Security

Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest by our infrastructure providers. Session credentials on your device are stored using platform secure storage with additional encryption. Access to verification documents is restricted and time-limited.

6. Data Retention

We keep your information while your account is active. When your account is deleted, your personal data is removed from production systems; residual copies in encrypted backups are purged on the backup rotation cycle.

7. Account Deletion

You can delete your account and associated data at any time:

• In the app: Profile → Delete Account (available for customer, gunsmith/FFL, and instructor accounts). This permanently removes your account and associated personal data.
• Online: submit a deletion request at gunsmithapp.com/delete-account.
• By request: email Operations@gunsmithapp.com with the subject "Account Deletion Request" from the email address on your account. We complete verified deletion requests within 30 days and confirm by email.

Deleting the app from your device does not delete your account — use one of the methods above.

8. Your Choices

• Edit or remove profile information and firearm locker entries in the app at any time.
• Disable location access or push notifications in your device settings.
• Unsubscribe from marketing email via the link in any message.

9. Age Requirement

GunsmithApp™ is intended for adults. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18; if we learn we have, we delete it.

10. Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and notify you in the app or by email before the changes take effect.
